Fill and Sign any PDF form containing AcroFields.

Form fields are extracted from the document and presented in a simple user interface for easy access and filling. For that purpose form fields should be labeled correctly by the form creator. In case they are not, real-time split-screen mode might be of some help, but it depends on the size of your device’s screen (see the screenshots). Full-screen read-only form preview is also available.

Signature capture capability depends on external Signature Capture library. You will be prompted for installation once when needed.

Except filling and signing, it is possible to attach photos to documents. Input data can be exported and produced documents can be viewed, mailed and shared by different means.

Input PDF documents can be opened directly from your device’s file manager or they can be accessed via app’s built in file browser.

Output documents in demo/trial mode are watermarked and the app contains ads.

Full app version has no ads and allows you to save documents without a watermark. It also allows you to export your input data to csv or json and to access the app’s API (for 3rd party app integration). For API details see here.

Important notes

Check boxes are supported but most of PDF viewers on Android devices do not show them correctly. Selected check boxes *are* present in output PDF document which can be checked with Adobe Acrobat Reader on PC.
If you need a tool to create PDF forms, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office and Open/Libre Office have that functionality.

Integration with a third party Android app

It is possible to call Fill and Sign PDF Forms from another Android application by passing it a content uri of the form that should be opened. The following code snippet demonstrates how to do it:

After the form has been filled, depending on the value of ReturnToCaller variable, Fill and Sign PDF Forms app returns either to it’s Select screen (false) or returns to your app (true) providing an output file as a content uri. You can receive the file in your activity in the following way:

You can also pre-populate form fields with values that you provide directly from your app. The field names and values are passed as intent extras. The following snippet demonstrates how this is done (it should be inserted between lines 9 and 11 in the first code sample):

In this case JSON content uri can be caught in onActivityResult method the same way the PDF file uri is. For example (insert this between lines 12 and 13 in the second code sample):

FAQ

Is permanent internet connection required?

No.

I see none of the data that input to the form. Why is that?

It could be that the fonts that you are using are not supported by either our application or PDF reader installed on your Android device. Try to open the filled form on your PC. If data is not shown, email the original PDF Form to the support email address and we’ll take a look.

Does the app support javascript for calculated fields and button actions?

Yes, there is a limited javascript support. If something isn’t working with your form please send it to our support email here and we’ll take a look.

Why am I not able to capture any signatures?

Your form has to have signature field. Plain text field does not count. If you have a signature field a button will show up that launches signature capture.

How can I create PDF form?

If you need a tool to create PDF forms, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office and free Open/Libre Office have that functionality.

How can I see attached photos?

Photos are not inserted inside your PDF. If you open it in Adobe Reader for example, you will notice a paperclip icon next to the document page. Clicking on this icon will list your attached photos.

How can I keep my form editable after filling it?

Press ‘Menu’ button, then ‘Settings’. Under ‘Output’ section there is a ‘Read only’ item. Set that one to ‘Ask’ or ‘Never’.

When setting up a form is there a way to create the order you see the fields in the app?

Yes there is. Order of fields follows the TAB order defined in your form.

How do I activate the license with the key that I already have?

In order to activate your license, follow the next steps:

start the application
open application menu
click on ‘Settings’ menu item
click on ‘About’ under ‘Miscellaneous’
click on ‘Activate Full Version’ button
in ‘Activate’ dialog enter your activation code and press OK.

Output document is shared via email as an attachment but it never gets sent?

There are two possible causes:

You are using Fill and Sign PDF Forms version 3.2 or earlier on Android 6.0
In this case the mail app that you are using doesn’t have a permission to access the SD card. You would need to explicitly add it. Please go to Settings->Apps->(your mail app)->Permissions and enable the “Storage” permission manually.
You are using Fill and Sign PDF Forms version 3.2.1 and above
This version solves the problem above but we already have reports about problems with some buggy mail apps. We are told that attachments do not get sent unless they are opened (before sending) in email app. Unfortunately, this problem is completely out of our scope and there is nothing that we can do about it.
